Compute Economics

Keep agent systems economically viable without sacrificing quality on high-risk work.

7 skill artifacts · Gate-reviewed · GROW-S7 (Execution cluster)

What this module contains

7 reusable skill artifacts.

Each artifact is a standalone, versioned build deliverable — templates, registers, policies, specs, checklists, matrices, playbooks, and maps — wired to the rest of the GROW stack by explicit contracts.

Cost Model

spec · v0.1.0

The Cost Model is the foundational financial inventory for an agent stack.

Quality Cost Matrix

matrix · v0.1.0

The Quality-Cost Matrix answers the central routing question before any call is made: which tasks actually need an expensive model and which tasks are wasted spend at the premium tier? Each workflow step is classified along two axes — required quality/risk level and the minimum model tier sufficient to meet that quality bar — so that e6-routing-policy has a step-level look-up table rather than a per-run judgment call.

Builds on: e6-cost-model, s1-failure-mode-register

Routing Policy

policy · v0.1.0

The Routing Policy is the runtime decision engine for compute spend.

Contract: Produces C7 + C8 → Evaluation / Reliability

Builds on: e6-cost-model, e6-quality-cost-matrix, s1-threshold-escalation-spec

Latency Budget Spec

spec · v0.1.0

The Latency Budget Spec translates user experience and operational requirements into per-task-class time ceilings that constrain model tier selection, cache strategy, and batch eligibility in e6-routing-policy.

Builds on: e6-routing-policy

Unit Economics Worksheet

template · v0.1.0

The Unit Economics Worksheet converts the cost inventory in e6-cost-model into a per-offer gross-margin model by comparing fully-loaded operating cost to the user value or revenue each offer generates.

Builds on: e6-cost-model

Waste Reduction Playbook

playbook · v0.1.0

The Waste Reduction Playbook is a practitioner's guide for cutting the compute spend that produces no quality value — redundant retries, duplicate retrieval, runaway loops, idle infrastructure, and over-provisioned tier selections.

Builds on: e6-routing-policy, e6-latency-budget-spec, s1-fallback-architecture-blueprint

Compute Economics Package

template · v0.1.0

The Compute Economics Package is the practitioner's on-ramp for GROW-S7.

Builds on: e6-cost-model, e6-quality-cost-matrix, e6-routing-policy, e6-latency-budget-spec, e6-waste-reduction-playbook, e6-unit-economics-worksheet

Build & gate status

Where this module stands.

Status

Gate-reviewed on 2026-05-29 against builders-evaluation-gate sections (a)–(e); promoted to reviewed.

How it composes

This module plugs into the four-cluster GROW stack (Systems → Execution → Trust → Coordination) through versioned interface contracts C1–C12. See the full wiring in the library registry.

Open access

GROW-S7 is free and open.

Every artifact, worksheet, and template in this module is free to use — no membership, no paywall.
